Mecklenburg County 4-H helped teachers at Queens Grant elementary school kick off their soils unit by letting the kids build their own “Soil Sam”. “Soil Sam” is an activity from the Acres of Adventures 4-H curriculum that teaches young people the basics of soils and plants by allowing them to build their own planting buddy, “Soil Sam”. Each of the 78 third grade students got their hands dirty and began their exciting journey with soils and plants through 4-H.
