Join us this summer for our abundance of exciting programs!
All events listed to take place at the Armory will be located at:
1418 Armory Drive, Charlotte, NC 28204.

Registration will continue throughout the summer until camps are filled.
Classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Please complete a 4-H Youth Enrollment Form for each child you are registering.
Also, Please complete a 4-H Medical Release for each child also.

**NO REFUNDS GIVEN**

June 15th – 20th, 2014
Robotics STEM/Leadership Camp
Location: Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Center
Ages: 13 – 15
Cost: $50

June 16th – 20th, 2014
4-H Teen Leadership Camp
Youth will dive into financial literacy with the Money Game. They will explore working with others and learn more about themselves through use of True Colors. Teens will also experience the positive difference of experiential learning through activities like Maps & Apps/GeoMapping. They will build leadership skills, participate in healthy lifestyles activities, and even use the 4-H Filmmaking curriculum to document their experiences. Teens do not want to miss this!
Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: Armory
Ages:14 – 18
Cost: $80/child
Enrollment is limited to only 10 youth!
Trip: Whitewater Center on Friday

June 23th – 24th, 2014
Robotics Workshop
This workshop will be led by an NCA&T intern and our very own 4-H youth leaders that attended the Robotics STEM/Leadership Camp. Youth will explore and have fun using robotics.
Session 1: 9 a.m. – noon (ages 8 – 11)
Session 2: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. (ages 11 – 12)
Location: Armory
Cost: FREE

July 9th – 10th, 2014
Lego Build Workshop
Youth will explore building and construction through use of LEGO’s. LEGO games, build matches, and more fun will ensue!
Time: 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Armory
Ages: 5 – 9
Cost: FREE

July 13th – 18th, 2014
4-H Residential Summer Camp
Location:  Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Center
Ages: 8 – 14
Cost: $500/child
*Please visit: 4-H Summer Residential Camp for full registration packet and information. Contact racquel_mcneil@ncsu.edu with any residential camp questions or concerns as well as any information regarding camp scholarships or to be a camp sponsor. For camp, a $250 deposit can be made, however the full $500 payment and/or second deposit and registration is due no later than June 25th, 2014 and all paperwork due by June 27th, 2014. If you are interested in being a monetary camp sponsor which will afford youth the possibility of obtaining scholarships and/or the funds to go to camp, please visit our “Send a Kid to Camp” page. Engineering Workshop
Youth become Engineers!!! They will explore engineering by building paper bridges, designing through balls & tracks, and in construction of rubber band powered cars.
Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Armory
Ages: 9 – 13
Cost: $5/child

July 29th – 31st, 2014
Cake Chemistry/Food Science/Mini Chefs
Youth will explore the lives of chefs through learning various cooking skills, preparing meals including desserts and other dishes, all while learning about the value of fresh food and healthy eating!
Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Ages:12 – 17

August 4th – 8th, 2014
Mini Society
Youth will create their own Mini‐Society and earn money through mini‐businesses they create! Youth will have the chance to name their own town, create a system for earning money, designing their money, apply for jobs, and they may even be mayor!! Participants have the chance to learn economic and business basics by creating a business and will buy and sell among themselves. The week ends with an auction where you get the chance to buy real items to take home using mini‐society dollars earned during the week.
Time: 8:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Location: Gaston County Cooperative Extension Office
Ages: 9 – 13
Cost $50/child
*Enrollment limited to 10 youth only!
*Transportation will be provided to and from the Mecklenburg County Office each day for this event.
*Youth will need to bring their own lunch
