For Immediate Release: Sustainable Living Series Wins Charlotte Magazine’s BOB Award
Editors of Charlotte Magazine awards Mecklenburg Cooperative Extension’s educational series for “the best way to learn a new skill”
CHARLOTTE, NC APRIL 17, 2015 – Mecklenburg County Cooperative Extension’s Sustainable Living Series has been awarded the Charlotte Magazine’s Best of the Best award for “The Best Way to Learn a New Skill”.
The successful series is a partnership between the Mecklenburg Family and Consumer Sciences program and the Mecklenburg Extension Master Gardeners. The series was designed by Kristin Davis, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent with Mecklenburg County Cooperative Extension, as an answer to citizen requests for comprehensive education related to sustainability. The year-long Sustainable Living Series aims to provide citizens with knowledge to incorporate sustainable practices into their lifestyle. From gardening to home food preservation, the Series connects families with nature, nutrition and sustainability in a practical and fun way!
Since 1997, Charlotte magazine has dedicated its May issue to the BEST OF THE BEST. The BOBS, as they call it, recognizes the city’s finest in food and drink, nightlife, entertainment, shopping, mind and body, and more- 315 winners in all. Winners of the Best of the Best are selected by Charlotte Magazine staffers, former staffers, and regular contributors. During the process, like contenders are compared, debated and streamlined into a list of the best that the Queen City has to offer. ” When we pick a winner, not only have we been there, we’ve also been to several other top contenders.
