4-H Teens as Teachers

Teens as Teachers is a program for 8-12th graders  (13-18 years old) who are interested in receiving training to teach elementary-aged youth about nutritional health and physical activity related topics! Teens will learn how to create, and teach lesson plans while gaining leadership, public speaking, facilitation skills, teamwork and confidence! Additional opportunities to teach STEM, environmental science and a host of other topics to youth will be available.

Teens who are interested in getting involved should complete an application and  MUST be available to attend Teen Leader Training held on October 16, 2019, from 2–6 p.m. Registering in 4HOnline will also be required. Additionally, winning essay responses to the Healthy Living Essay portion will be able to attend the 4-H Healthy Living Teen Leader Retreat September 27-28. Three winners will be selected for the essay contest. Selected Teen Teacher applicants and essay winners will be notified by September 10.

If selected to participate in the program, team members will be given additional subject matter training on those topics.
