What is the 4-H Book Club?
The Mecklenburg County 4-H Book Club is a new initiative that encourages youth to read more and connect with peers through literature. Teens in 4-H and adult volunteers run the club, leading discussions, making creative connections, and exploring a variety of age-appropriate books. Literature and literacy are critical to youth development, and this club gives youth opportunities to explore different topics, genres, and media for telling stories. The club also explores how literature, stories, and literacy apply to their communities. 4-H will use book kits available through the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County library system.
How do I get involved?
The 4-H Mecklenburg County Book Club is in its early stages and plans to launch in fall 2026. Youth, families, and/or clubs interested in joining the club this fall, please fill out our interest form located under the Resources tab.
As the book club starts to meet regularly, youth actively participating in the club need to be enrolled in 4-H. For more information on 4-H enrollment and what it involves, visit our Enrolling in 4-H page.
