Local Foods

The Local Foods program at NC State with NC State Extension describes local food as being grown and transported within the state of North Carolina. At its core, local food is about connecting growers and consumers within a designated geographic area.

Through the Local Foods program, our local food agent engages with farmers in on site visits to provide support of their mission and to connect them with resources and education, participates in regional community food strategy planning, and works collaboratively with partners to support local food access for all.
