Thank you for your interest in learning more about the home food preservation. This page is to help you gain knowledge regarding the basics of home food preservation. The following presentation and steps fulfill the prerequisite for hands-on canning classes provided by Mecklenburg Cooperative Extension’s Family and Consumer Sciences and Sustainable Living Series.

In order to gain credit for completing the webinar, participants must fulfill the steps below. Please note that the information covered in this presentation is reinforced in our hands-on learning experiences; however, it is not reviewed in detail.

  1. Complete the webinar | The above webinar requires share permission. You may gain access to the webinar by sending a request to Kristin Davis, Extension Agent at Kristin_Davis@ncsu.edu.
  2. Complete the webinar quiz | Access and complete the webinar quiz by clicking here.
  3. Complete the evaluation | We want to improve the online learning experience. Please complete the evaluation here. Each participant that completes the evaluation will receive a comprehensive home food preservation booklet via mail. Please note that participants who have not completed this webinar, as a prerequisite, will not be permitted to register for hands-on classes. 
  4. Receive a confirmation | After completing the above steps, you will receive an email confirmation which will permit registration for hands-on canning classes in the future.
