Collapse ▲The 2025 N.C. Cooperative Extension Master Gardener℠ of Mecklenburg County class is off to an exciting start! With eager participants ready to deepen their knowledge of horticulture, this year’s program has already featured expert-led sessions covering a variety of essential gardening topics.
So far, specialists from across North Carolina have shared their expertise on soil testing and health, botany, small fruits, and the various diseases and disorders that can affect horticulture. Each week, students gain valuable insights that they will soon bring back to the community, helping to foster sustainable gardening practices and support local green spaces.
This program not only equips participants with practical gardening skills but also empowers them to serve as knowledgeable volunteers who can assist others in Mecklenburg County. With every new lesson, these future Master Gardeners are growing their expertise and preparing to make a lasting impact.
