Volunteer opportunities include:

Agriculture/Horticulture (General volunteer)

  • Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteer (Agriculture)
    • As an educational volunteer of NC State Extension, certified individuals assist in providing public education in gardening and environmental stewardship based on researched-based information from N.C. Cooperative Extension and other universities.
  • 4-H
    • 4-H Clubs are great ways for our youth to learn life skills, make friends, learn by doing, engage in hands-on and interest based projects, access educational curriculum, give back to the community, create positive connections with others, gain leadership skills and experience, build self confidence, and participate in 4-H activities on the local, statewide, and national level.   • Family & Consumer Science (General volunteer)
  • Extension Master Food Volunteer (Family & Consumer Sciences)
    • The NC State Extension Master Food Volunteer (EMFV) program provides NC residents the opportunity to engage with their communities by supporting N.C. Cooperative Extension programming in the areas of nutrition, cooking, food safety, and food systems.

  • Real Money. Real World Volunteer (Family & Consumer Sciences)
    • This financial literacy program ideal for youth ages 13-18 is intended to help youth learn money management skills and understand the relationship between career choice and income.
