Cool Season Seed Starting Class Flyer

Ready to grow your own cool weather veggies but not sure where to begin? Join us at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Mecklenburg County Center (2415 Lester St., Charlotte, NC) on September 11, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. for our Cool Season Seed Starting Class and learn the essential techniques to start seeds like a pro! Whether you want to grow kale, broccoli, or lettuce, this hands-on class will guide you through every step, from choosing the right seeds to mastering indoor germination.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the confidence and know-how to nurture healthy seedlings ready to thrive in your fall or winter garden. All materials will be provided just bring your enthusiasm!

Agenda

Welcome/Introduction | 5:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Doors open at 5:45.


Lecture | 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Class will start promptly at 6:00 p.m., please enjoy refreshments while listening to a brief lecture.


Hands On Activity | 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Each attendee will prepare a reusable 12 seedling flat complete with soil and vegetable seeds to take home.


Clean up & Q/A | 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Feel free to hang around for a few minutes while the instructor wraps up class to ask any questions.
