Updates as We Move Into Spring 2023

(Updated: Feb. 22, 2023, 8 a.m.)

Spring is just around the corner here in Mecklenburg County, but there is more than trees, plants, and flowers that will be coming back to life. We are proud to announce the Amay James Recreation Center grand opening will **tentatively** be on Saturday, March 11! Located adjacent to the Rec Center is the N.C. Cooperative Extension,Mecklenburg County Center. (Formerly the Amay James Annex building.)

There will be N.C. Cooperative Extension staff and volunteer tables set up with information and activities for all ages! This will include several  Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Mecklenburg County and the newest member of our team, Garrett Gourley, who will be serving Mecklenburg County through 4-H Youth Development. We encourage you to come out and join us on Saturday, March 11th between 10 a.m.  - 1 p.m. as we celebrate the grand opening of the Amay James Recreation Center and the Amay James Campus.
