We are looking for volunteers for 4-H’s 2025 South Central District Activity Day! This is a day full of unique and engaging presentations from youth across several counties.

Event Details:

Date: Tuesday, June 17th, 2025

Location:  West Iredell High School (213 Warrior Dr.
Statesville NC

Time: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

What is the 4-H South Central District Activity Day?

Presentations are an integral part of North Carolina 4-H as they allow youth to build confidence and work on public speaking while sharing a topic they are passionate about. For District Activity Day, youth from across the region come to showcase their projects and passions through presentations that include public speaking, demonstrations, and talks. This day is an important milestone and event for our 4-H youth who have worked hard this year on their presentation skills.

What topics will be presented on?

Presentation topics are diverse and include categories from arts and communication and environmental science to cooking, animal science, and digital reality. For a full list of topics, click here. You will be surprised by just how much you can learn from these presentations!

What youth are presenting?

Youth from across the South Central Region that includes counties such as Lincoln, Catawba, Cabarrus, Rowan, and Scotland County will present. Participants range in age from 8 -18 years old and are divided into age based categories. Mecklenburg County hosts a County Activity Day for youth in our county to prepare for District Activity Day. The top two participants in each category advance to District Activity Day, and the top participants from District Activity Day advance to state finals.

Do I need judging experience or previous volunteer experience?

No prior judging experience or volunteer experience is needed. Volunteers will receive a quick training the day of the event. All volunteers must enroll in 4-H online as an Adult Only Level 1 volunteer. This is free and should take about a half an hour.

How do I sign up?

If you are interested, please fill out our volunteer form and select 4-H Youth Development. In the comments, please state interest in being a judge for District Activity Day. Mecklenburg County 4-H Staff will follow up via email to confirm participation once you fill out the form and indicate interest in being a judge for 4-H District Activity Day.
