Extension Master Food Volunteer Program coming soon to Mecklenburg County.
We are holding an interest meeting for our NC State Extension Master Food Volunteer (EMFV) program training on Friday, August 15th from 1-2p on Zoom.

The NC State Extension Master Food Volunteer (EMFV) program provides NC residents the opportunity to engage with their communities by supporting N.C. Cooperative Extension programming in the areas of nutrition, cooking, food safety, and food systems. N.C. Cooperative Extension provides evidence-based information through community classes and events.

This interest meeting will cover:

  • The volunteer opportunities available through N.C. Cooperative Extension
  • How you can get involved in food and nutrition programs in your community as an Extension Master Food Volunteer
  • How you can become an Extension Master Food Volunteer
  • The trainings and opportunities you receive as an Extension Master Food Volunteer

Opportunities to volunteer include:

  • Nutrition Education Classes
  • Virtual Cooking Classes
  • Food Preservation Classes
    Food Demos at the Farmers Market
  • Volunteer Support for our Community Partners involved in our food systems
