The Love Your Local Youth Cook-Off Competition will be held at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27th.

4-H Youth Development is partnering with Can U Cook? for an epic culinary competition. Can U Cook? is a local organization that brings energetic cooking competitions to life! This friendly competition will encourage youth to engage with their food, learn about where it comes from, and develop healthy eating habits—all while having fun in the kitchen!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just love experimenting in the kitchen, this is your chance to showcase your creativity by using fresh, locally-grown ingredients in a live cooking competition! Participants will be split into two teams and will compete to impress the judges with their dish made from ingredients found at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market.

We are looking for high schoolers in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area to participate! To sign up and be contacted with more details, fill out the interest form: https://forms.gle/QUakg31LwVoiUg1n7

Participants do not need to have prior cooking experience. Our Family and Consumer Science Agent, Demetria Cox-Thomas, will host a short informational session prior to the competition to give participants all the information they need. Additionally, participants do not have to be from the same high school or currently involved in 4-H.
